I write to lift the heart
and encourage the mind.

Dona Haws writes books, songs, and poems that invite readers to recognize their personal value and possibilities. Sometimes she writes just to make things easier for the reader/hearer, as she did in her first published poem, “The Goodnight Train,” printed in Friend Magazine in August 2015.
Sonnets of Faith (Ambassador International) was also published in 2015. It includes sixty sonnets, inspired by scriptures from the King James version of the Bible and written in the Elizabethan style.
Her children’s books include Angels Foretold of Baby Jesus and Are You The Babe of Bethlehem? (Cedar Fort Publishing & Media).
She has won awards (Church Music Submissions) for her songs, “Thinking Celestial” and “Do Your Duty.”
Book of Mormon Memory Makers—not what she would call poetry—just rhyming verses that can be set to music—are found in her Facebook posts during 2024. They are also found at www.donawildinghaws.com/sharables.
Dona has a degree in Psychology and has worked as an Elementary School Counselor.
